A group of residents from Elmwood recently had an outing to the Mission Cafe in Bromley – the UK’s first purpose built dementia friendly café, run by Mission Care. Located just off the High Street, it provides a safe, comfortable and supportive environment for people living with dementia and those that care for them.
Assisted by the staff, our residents David Knee, Eva Luke and Eileen Perkins attended the trip on the mini bus to the Mission Café. Here, they enjoyed slices of delicious Victoria sponge,walnut and lemon drizzle cakes,of course, served with a nice cup of tea or coffee.
“They all loved the café. One of the residents found the café very colourful. Another resident commented on how relaxing was to be here” – told us Terri Johnson, Activity Carer.
