Following the success of our first trip to the Thames during the second lockdown, we took another group of residents up to Bermondsey to experience the river at dusk. It was a beautiful clear autumn day in London and the tide was exceptionally low. We talked to a couple who were ‘mudlarking’ on the Thames river bed and they told us about some of the items they’d found – such hand-made bits of pottery, glass bottles and clay pipes which were hundreds of years old. The residents found this very interesting.
We went for a lovely quiet walk along the Thames river in the last hours of daylight before returning home to Love Walk.
