A special celebration was held at Homefield recently as one of our residents turned 101. Maud, who was born in 1917, celebrated the landmark event with her family, fellow residents and staff. There was a surprise live performance from popular band, Jam Session, as they played music from the 50s and 60s. Everybody thoroughly enjoyed singing and dancing!
Maud was born in Camberwell, South London. She was the eldest of nine children and worked in the rag trade and later in one of the Boots’ offices. She also worked in a company that printed stamps before she retired at 60. When asked what her recipe to a long life is, she said it was hard work and looking after a large family.
Maud received some lovely birthday cards and presents from friends and family, as well as a delicious birthday cake. It was certainly a very special day we were thrilled to be a part of.
Happy Birthday Maud!
