Heart-warming celebrations

Celebrating a 70th Birthday With Mission Care

To celebrate one of our Love Walk residents turning 70 recently, residents decided to get together and make him a special card.

They chose to cut out and decorate 70 paper balloons and stick them to a card with the end result looking very colourful! As well as the card, residents also got together for a party at the home which was a fantastic way to celebrate a milestone birthday.

Love Walk Summer Party

Love Walk made the most of the glorious weather recently and held their annual summer party earlier this month.

As is the tradition at Love Walk guests enjoyed a Caribbean BBQ which included treats such as fried fish, jerk chicken, curry and stew chicken. Also on offer were burgers, hotdogs, a huge variety of fresh salads, delicious puddings and a tasty Caribbean rum punch.

Guests were entertained with live Motown and reggae music, followed by a bagpipes performance from one of our local neighbours. Everyone partied away into the evening with a disco and and agreed it was a great Summer party as always!

Live Music At Elmwood

This month, Elmwood residents joined together for a live music show put on by entertainers, Mandy and Phil.

The duo sang popular tracks by The Carpenters, Elvis Presley, Nat King Cole and Neil Diamond, amongst others.

Residents thoroughly enjoyed the show, singling along and tapping their feet to songs that they recognised. Thank you, Phil and Mandy, for a great afternoon of entertainment!

Fancy Dress With a Twist At Greenhill

Greenhill residents enjoyed an exercise session with a twist recently when Kiddleydivey ran a themed dance and music afternoon at the home.

Residents chose a Royal theme in honour of the recent nuptials between Prince Harry and Meghan and wore feather boas and hats to get into the spirit, with one resident, Mary taking on the very important role of the Royal bride!

The morning was a great success – thanks Kiddleydivey and see you soon!

Celebrations Fit For a Queen

Homefield residents celebrated the Queen’s birthday recently by getting together with relatives and loved ones for a sunny garden party.

Held at the home, residents and their guests enjoyed a finger food buffet, followed by strawberries and ice cream and a glass of sparkling wine. Resident Alice commented “I really enjoyed seeing all my family and it was great we could celebrate the Queen’s birthday together. The sparkling wine was also a treat!”

Everyone agreed it was a great afternoon and the perfect way to celebrate HM The Queen turning another year older!
